Koumajou Remilia II: Stranger's Requiem is a side-scrolling 2D action game featuring characters from the Touhou Project, a popular franchise loved by fans around the world, and a direct sequel to Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony.

Building off of the previous game, Koumajou Remilia II: Stranger's Requiem is a substantial upgrade to the previous title in more ways than one, featuring better graphics and gameplay, an original story centered around a new protagonist, and a richer lineup of characters. Embark on an adventure with Chief Maid Sakuya Izayoi as she finds herself in search of spring, which has disappeared along with her friends from the castle.

Story
"No way! Back then, I'm sure the Scarlet Devil Castle was......"

After the incident surrounding the Scarlet Mist covering Gensokyo, Sakuya Izayoi, chief maid of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, notices something else amiss.

The people she called family back at the mansion have gone missing and an unwelcome guest mentions that "Spring still hasn't come."

Sakuya immediately sets out toward the site of the obliterated Scarlet Devil Castle in search of why that may be, only to find a sight she can't believe, the castle standing there once more......

• A new protagonist: Sakuya Izayoi - In order to investigate yet another event plaguing Gensokyo, Sakuya Izayoi, chief maid of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, sets out on a new adventure. Using her adept skills with throwing knives and her ability to stop time, she must fight against the mysterious characters and monsters who inhabit the reincarnated Scarlet Devil Castle!
• Another mystery surrounding the Scarlet Devil Castle - Infamous youkai Yukari Yakumo appears as Remilia goes missing. New enemies, including Ran Yakumo and Youmu Konpaku, appear at her side, trying to stop Sakuya from tracking down Yukari. Apart from them, Reimu Hakurei and other friends from the Scarlet Devil Mansion have somehow made their way inside. What secrets lie hidden behind this mysterious phenomenon?
• A bigger lineup of partners, and more subweapons to choose from - Sakuya's weapons and abilities build on the action of the previous entry into the series, giving more variety to the intense battles players must take on. Enlist the help of characters from the previous game by using them as partners! Use your subweapons alongside your partners' abilities to deal with all the different situations you'll find yourself in
