God of War:
In God of War, players take on the role of a Spartan warrior named Kratos who served the Olympian gods. Deeply grieved and haunted by his dark past, Kratos vows to do anything to get rid of his guilt and his debts to the gods. Tired of his service and the memories that continually hunts him, the gods offered him to do one last act to free him from his horrible situation - the murder of Ares, the God of war. Armed with the chained Blades of Choas, Kratos must overcome unspeakable dangers to fulfill his task.

God of War II:
Following the story in God of War, Kratos now sits as the God of War and is now being shunned by the other gods. Zeus' betrayal of Kratos only adds up to his already unbearable torment. Determined to end his sufferings Kratos must face untold horrors again to change the one thing that neither mortal nor god has ever changed: Fate.
